Dirty Epic welcomes aboard @krenzlin for the 135th installment of Amplify Series.

Krenzlin was born and raised in Brandenburg, Germany. It was in the early 2000's when he first got into techno music. In 2009 he played at Tresor for the first time which greatly influenced his progress as an artist.

Not long after followed a series of international Bookings in more than ten countries and festival bookings at Nature One, Ruhr In, Summer Spirit and many others.

Krenzlin has built up quite the reputation as a producer. If one reads the list of labels which he has released on, it is hard to believe that such a respected discography can be formed in such a short amount of time with releases on Synewave, Nachstrom Schallplatten, Konsequent Records and many others. From 2012-2019 he released more than one hundred original tracks and remixes.
In 2020 he founded and created his own record label “770-Output“. A few months later he started the project “Slight Function” together with Argentinian artist Rhombic. Their first release came out on Rhombic’s label followed by their recent release on Pfirter’s imprint, MindTrip.

Ancient Methods returns with his first EP in three years. On “Society of the Spectacle”, we find seven pieces, some of them short, radio play–like sound sketches that draw on Guy Debord’s visionary book of the same name as the conceptual template for selected sonic interpretations.

While Ancient Methods’ previous releases already incorporated subtle commentaries on his immediate surroundings, “Society of the Spectacle” dissects microscopic fragments of the text, holding them up like a magnifying glass to illuminate the book’s prophecies as they have materialized in contemporary reality.

Musically, however, the EP feels liberated from any attachment to the spirit of the times—almost anachronistically Ancient Methods. Aside from the near-euphoric moments of “Burn The Frame” this may well be the most introverted work of his oeuvre: far removed from sensationalism, yet without paying homage to conservative minimalism.

The opening track, “Image Is My Commodity” carries the unmistakable metallic sonic armor, as trembling beats punch through the guts. The tracks rarely exceed the 125 BPM mark, allowing their full industrial force to unfold. Psychedelic elements—already increasingly audible on the previous EP “The Third Siren”—are further developed here, while on “Cache la misère” obscure, polyrhythmic metal spikes drill through loops with a folkloric undertone.

The EP’s surprising outlier is “Burn The Frame” featuring vocals by darkwave icon Night in Athens. The track pairs early ’90s techno references with catchy minimal synth elements—a combination previously characteristic of the side project The Loud Age.

Dirty Epic welcomes aboard @pyramidal-track for the 134th installment of Amplify Series.

Pyramidal Decode is an Italian techno producer and label owner known for his polyhedral
approach to techno, blending ambient, hard industrial, and hypnotic techno sounds. Born in
Italy in 1998, he began his music journey as a young teenager, playing both techno
productions and classical instruments. Over the past decade, he has gained recognition as a
respected and innovative force in the electronic music scene, with releases on notable labels
including Jeff Mills' Axis Recordings and Warm Up Recordings. His music is characterized
by intense percussion, analog textures, and a hypnotic, atmospheric quality that creates a
mind-bending, immersive experience for listeners.
In 2024, Pyramidal Decode founded PHYR Records, a vinyl-focused techno label that
emphasizes physical releases and avant-garde artistic design. The label's debut release was a
various artists album featuring prominent techno producers such as PWCCA, Irazu, Unkle
Fon, and Oliver Rosemann, showcasing Pyramidal Decode's commitment to quality and
innovation in techno. PHYR Records has quickly become known for cutting-edge music and
compelling design, including collaborations with visual artists 5599 Studio and Lazly
Bateman.

A major highlight of Pyramidal Decode's career and PHYR Records is his artistic
collaboration with legendary techno figure Oscar Mulero. Together, they released "IL
POEMA," a landmark double vinyl release on PHYR Records, which is an introspective and
avant-garde techno album inspired by Dante's Divine Comedy. The album features 12 tracks
split between the two artists and received critical acclaim for its depth, atmosphere, and
mastery of techno aesthetics. This collaboration exemplifies Pyramidal Decode's ability to
work closely with established artists in the techno world while maintaining his innovative
sound and label vision.

Pyramidal Decode is renowned for his dynamic live performances and DJ sets around the
world. He has played in some of the most respected techno venues and festivals globally,
captivating audiences with his intense, immersive sets that blend hypnotic rhythms and
atmospheric textures. His ability to connect with diverse crowds and adapt his sound to
different environments has solidified his reputation as a live innovator in techno music.

The 38th Earwiggle release comes from one of our favourites, and a debutant on the label, Serbian studio supremo Commissar Lag. The “Absolution EP” finds Lag delivering his playful vision of techno, dipping into the past while also pointing us to the future, all framed through an exquisite production gleam. Dense, rolling rhythms reminiscent of early ’00s Stockholm techno, combined with a catchy repeating vocal sequence (one of Lag’s trademark techniques) and rising sirens, result in the monster opening title track “Absolution”. “Aim Without Mercy” is another club destroyer - jabbing keys, broken jagged beats, and a series of rising pressure points making it another winner. “The Blessed” meanwhile, shifts the mood from mental to majestic, with interchanging leads and reverb-drenched climaxes marking the big-room peak of the record. Rounding things off is Irish wunderkind Dylan Fogarty, who reimagines “Aim Without Mercy” through a deep and psychedelic lens, layering textural collages over surging, jacking 909s.
