Comenzamos con la que posiblemente sea la mejor banda de punk rock que ha dado la ciudad de Seattle en el siglo XXI. Nos referimos a The Briefs, que este jueves arrancan gira por España. También nos visita el incandescente combo californiano The Lords of Altamont, la banda de Jake Cavaliere regresa con su nuevo álbum “Forever loaded”.

Lenny Kaye será eternamente recordado como el guitarrista de Patti Smith durante los años 70 y en las últimas tres décadas. Periodista e historiador musical, responsable de la mítica compilación “Nuggets”, productor y colaborador de otros artistas. Las grabaciones a su nombre son escasas y muy dispersas a lo largo del último medio siglo. A sus 79 años el neoyorquino anuncia nuevo trabajo a su nombre con el sello Yep Roc Records. El primer adelanto, “Goin’ local”, nos sirve de excusa para recordar una trayectoria en la que nunca ha dejado de defender sus pasiones artísticas.

T.N.T. fueron los grandes pioneros del punk granadino y una de las primeras bandas del género que sacaron un álbum. “Manifiesto Guernika” se lanzó en 1983 con el sello Dro y ahora acaba de ser reeditado por la casa Beat Generation. A pesar de que la banda quedó muy descontenta con la grabación este trabajo permanece como uno de los más notables de su tiempo. Canciones marcadas por unas letras de denuncia social tan incisivas como bien elaboradas, reflejo de una generación que, por fin, podía gritar su furia, su descontento y su visión del mundo que vivían.
