Ep 453: Visiting Citizen in Japan, and a New Horological Machine from MB&F

    10/06/2026 | 50 min
This week on the Worn & Wound podcast, Zach welcomes Cait Bazemore to talk about her recent trip to Japan with Citizen to check out their Eco-Drive manufacturing facilities.

This week on the Worn & Wound podcast, Zach welcomes Cait Bazemore to talk about her recent trip to Japan with Citizen to check out their Ec-Drive manufacturing facilities. Citizen is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Eco-Drive this year, so they took the rare step to open up their headquarters in Japan to media in celebration of the big event. In this conversation, Cait talks about what made this trip unique, setting it apart from the usual watch media press trip experience.

Today also marks the release of a new Horological Machine from MB&F, and Cait also had the opportunity to speak with MB&F designer Max Maertens about his latest creation for the brand ahead of its release. The HM12 “Guardian” is one of MB&F’s biggest swings to date (literally, it’s a very large robot…) and there’s a lot to unpack, so Zach and Cait spend some time talking about where this release fits in with the MB&F collection and their initial impressions of it after seeing it in person.

    Ep 452 Summer Watches

    03/06/2026 | 52 min
This week on the podcast, Zach and Kat are talking summer watches. This is a conversation we return to every year, it seems. As the weather warms up, it becomes apparent that some watches are just better suited to the summer months. Zach and Kat each pick summer watches in three categories: favorite affordable summer watch, the summer watch they’ll actually be wearing this year, and a grail summer watch. Before that, they unpack and define the very nature of the summer watch, whether this is a completely made up concept, and why we’re drawn to certain watches as the temperatures rise.

    Ep 450: Royal Pop Reactions

    20/05/2026 | 55 min
This week on the podcast, what else could we possibly discuss but the launch of the Royal Pop? The new Swatch x Audemars Piguet collaboration has been the topic of conversation around the watch world, and it’s that rare release that has actually transcended our community and become a bit of a pop culture moment more broadly. The bioceramic pocket watch has proven to be divisive among watch enthusiasts, and the launch day itself was a mess, with many Swatch stores closing for the day thanks to unruly crowds. Zach Kazan welcomes Zach Weiss and Cait Bazemore to the pod this week to talk about all of it!

Ep 449: Monthly Q&A: AP x Swatch, Grand Seiko, and Condiment Corner

    13/05/2026 | 54 min
This week on the Worn & Wound podcast, Zach Kazan is joined by Garrett Jones for our monthly Q&A episode. Questions this month cover topics like Grand Seiko’s release strategy, the best straps for summer, and, of course, condiments (we’re about the trademark “Condiment Corner” for use on this podcast). We also got a lot of questions on the new watches from Swatch and Audemars Piguet, which at the time of this recording were not yet announced. Literally minutes after hitting “stop” on the recording, the press release came through, and all was revealed. So you’ll hear a lot of speculation on this podcast about a watch that by the time you hear the episode will have been largely digested by the watch community, but hopefully listeners enjoy seeing how wrong (and how right!) we were in some of our thoughts on what might come from these very different brands.
