The Milwaukee Bucks couldn't defend the Philadelphia 76ers at all on Tuesday night, losing 139-122 despite a Bucks-high 31 points from Myles Turner. The loss was productive at least, as it rose Milwaukee to seventh on the tank standings, all but guaranteeing a top 10 pick for the Bucks.

The Milwaukee Bucks will likely be without Giannis Antetokounmpo for several more weeks, although we're still waiting on actual MRI results on his self-diagnosed calf strain. Regardless, the silver lining of another injury to Giannis is the clarity it offers the Bucks on their current situation: Milwaukee needs to embrace the gap year they've been thrust into. 
Ti Windisch and Rohan Katti clarify what that means: not obsessing over every win when a loss would help the Bucks lottery position, but instead trying to use the trade deadline to gain draft assets and maximizing minutes for young players or those under contract for future seasons. The Milwaukee Bucks snapped their ugly losing streak on Monday on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, beating the Atlanta Hawks 112-110 despite holding a 23-point lead at one point. Still, with Giannis Antetokounmpo's usual greatness plus a spark from Pete Nance, Doc Rivers managed to pull some levers.
