  • 104 Why Behaviour and Pain are Intertwined
Episode 104 – Why Behaviour and Pain are Intertwined   I had an incredible time at the WSAVA Congress in Rio and one of the things that I really took away as a musing from the Congress is the question as to whether or how we can differentiate pain from emotional states such as anxiety. We know that pain has an emotional component – often fear or anxiety – so do we therefore need to be more comprehensive in treating our painful patients by treating both pain and anxiety?   I’m not sure we have all the answers yet and we definitely don’t have any research looking at this, however, my suspicion is that we probably should be treating both!   In this episode I give you my 3 top explanations of why pain and emotional state are so interwoven and intertwined and how I think about treating my Behaviour Patients that are also in pain!   If you’d like to learn more about the medications that can treat both pain and emotional state, then have a look at my AMAZING PSYCHOACTIVE course: https://katrin-jahn.mykajabi.com/psychoactive   And if you’d like some help or input on a Behaviour Patient that is also painful then you can book a 30-minute Vet-Vet or Vet-Pet Care Professional Consultation with me right here: https://calendly.com/trinityvet/teams-and-professionals If you can’t find an appointment time to suit you, please email us at [email protected] to find a time that suits us both!   If you liked this episode of the show, Veterinary Behaviour Chat, please LEAVE A 5-STAR REVIEW, like, share, and subscribe!   Facebook Group: Join The Veterinary Behaviour Community on Facebook   You can CONNECT with me: Website: Visit my website Trinity Veterinary Behaviour Instagram: Follow Trinity Veterinary Behaviour on Instagram Trinity Veterinary Behaviour Facebook: Join us on Trinity Veterinary Behaviour's Facebook page Trinity Veterinary Behaviour YouTube: Subscribe to Trinity Veterinary Behaviour on YouTube LinkedIn Profile: Connect with me on LinkedIn   Thank you for tuning in!

  • 103 15-minute Speed Coaching with Victoria Shepherd
Episode 103 – 15-minute Speed Coaching with Victoria Shepherd   Welcome to our brand-new episode format – 15-minute Speed Coaching Sessions for Veterinary- and Pet Care Professionals! The rules of the game are as follows: ·         Episodes will be in-the-moment, off-the-cuff and unscripted. ·         Coaching sessions will be 15 Minutes MAXIMUM, so wherever we finish, we finish… ·         Which means that we might not find complete resolution to your question, but we will certainly get the thought process started!   In this episode, I chat to holistic groomer and aspiring behaviourist (currently with a behaviour certification), Victoria Shepherd, who has questions around communicating the possibility that her patients may be in pain to both the caregiver and the caregiver’s vet. As pet professionals who spend a lot of time with their patients and put their hands on them A LOT, groomers often recognize signs of pain or discomfort. And communicating that to the caregiver and the GP vet can be challenging. I absolutely LOVED recording this episode and it ends with a bit of a cliff hanger… so tune in…   If you’d like to book a 30-minute Vet-Vet or Vet-Pet Care Professional Consultation with me, you can do that right here: https://calendly.com/trinityvet/teams-and-professionals If you can’t find an appointment time to suit you, please email us at [email protected] to find a time that suits us both!   And if you’d like some amazing Client Handouts to give to your clients to help them understand the situation and their pet a little better, then here is the link to my amazing Trinity Client Handouts E-Book: https://katrin-jahn.mykajabi.com/trinity-e-book   And… if YOU would like to be part of a 15-Minute Podcast Speed Coaching episode, then apply right here: https://katrin-jahn.mykajabi.com/assessments/2148527544   If you liked this episode of the show, Veterinary Behaviour Chat, please LEAVE A 5-STAR REVIEW, like, share, and subscribe!
