There's not a more prestigious title in the world of RTG than winner of the Pre-March Madness Patreon Poll Tournament Extravaganza, and this week we're talking about our latest champion: Secret of Evermore.
Evermore is an action RPG on the SNES, developed by Squaresoft and quite obviously using the Secret of Mana engine. You play as a boy and his dog, travelling through weird worlds and trying to find your way back home. The concept of the game is fantastic, and it does a lot of stuff well, but I don't know if it really does anything great. And SNES RPGs have a lot of great in them.
Captain N of the Retrotopia podcast joins me this week to break down the world of Evermore, and we spent over an hour diving into the seedy (secret) underbelly of the world of Evermore.
And before we get save our dog, I put together another edition of the Infamous Intro!
This week someone asks if gaming has become a luxury hobby that just isn't accessible to everyone. If I could go back to RTG #1, what advice would I give myself? And is there a series I slept on for way too long??
Plus we play another round of 'Play One, Remake One, Erase One', too! This one features 3 SNES RPGs: The 7th Saga, The Illusion of Gaia, and Lufia II.

It's WrestleMania week, and while the hype for this year's Showcase of the Immortals is a little low, I'm still using it as an excuse to talk wrasslin' games because I love them. And this week we're going back to the year 2000 and looking at WWF SmackDown! 2: Know Your Role for the PSOne.
Like so many of you, I played this one back int he day and loved it. The season mode, Hell In A Cell, backstage fights, it was insane. How has it aged 26 years later? Ehhh....
The Mankind to my Rock, my buddy Andre, is my guest this week. We went over the highs and lows of the SmackDown sequel and talked about how it's aged while sharing memories of grinding through that season mode back in the day.
And before we lay the smack down, I put together another edition of the Infamous Intro!
This week someone asks if I've ever considered making a RTG video game?? Are old wrestling games worth picking up these days?? And what accessories are must grabs for new Switch 2 owners??
Plus we play another round of 'Play One, Remake One, Erase One', too! This one features 3 PSOne era wrestlers: WCW Mayhem, ECW Hardcore Revolution, and WWF Attitude.

My efforts to mend the fences between Nintendo and Sega kids continue this week as we review Ristar; a charming little platformer exclusive to Sega's black box.
It's a platformer without much of an emphasis on jumping. You control this little black ball with a star face and use its Mr. Fantastic-esque arms to grab enemies, ledges, walls, and try not to die. It's not the most memorable game I've ever played, but it actually doe sa lot of things I normally hate very very well. A hidden gem in my books.
Ye olde Bradley McCue is my guest this week and we talk about our likes and dislikes of fighting balls with stars. I'm not sure what else there is to say. Fun game.
And before we shoot for the star, I put together another edition of the Infamous Intro!
This week someone shouts out the Nintendo 64 for changing the gaming landscape. What modern games are 'NES tough'? And where do I stand on the 2003 TMNT animated series??
Plus we play another round of 'Play One, Remake One, Erase One'!! This one features 3 Genesis games featuring weird mascots: Vectorman, Rocket Knight Adventures, and Dynamite Headdy.

I've made it a goal to cover as many Mega Man games as I can on this podcast before I inevitably get cancelled, and we're crossing another off the list this week with the classic Mega Man 4.
This was the one that introduced by the Mega Buster and Eddie. Eddie is great, but the Mega Buster is a little more...controversial. I don't know anyone that HATES it, but there's a group of Mega Man fans that prefer to play WITH it, and a group (that I'm part of) that prefer to play without it. whether you like the big buster or not, it doesn't take away from the fact that the Mega Man team was on their game in these days, and I think most would consider MM4 a classic game and valuable member of the NES 6.
The Dr. Light to my Dr. Wily, Dan from Dissect That Film returns to this week to talk Mega Manning. This is his personal favourite of the OG series, and we talked for over an hour about the legendary robot master lineup, tweaks to the classic gameplay formula, and that sexy swinging soundtrack.
And before we whip on Wily again, I put together another edition of the Infamous Intro!
This week someone asks my thoughts on the recent StarFox reveal (and I fumble it hard). What would it take for me to go all PC for my games?? And what game have I spent the most time beating in my life??
Plus we play another round of 'Play One, Remake One, Erase One', too! This one features 3 Mega Man games: Mega Man 5, 6, and 7.

I've been wanting to play F.E.A.R. for years. It had a lot going against it for this review because I JUST finished Resident Evil 9 (which is newer and spectacular), and it's been 7 whole days since our last "slow motion shooter" game review, but to F.E.A.R.'s credit it left a great impression on me because a good game is a good game.
If you haven't played this one, you play as the "point man" on this squad of, I dunno, shooter guys? You're investigating this company that's somehow making telepathic monsters and spend most the game sneaking around killing other shooter guys controlled by monsters. It's better than I described.
Captain N of the Retrotopia podcast joins me this week and carried my uneducated ass through a good review of a great game. We do spoil, so you've been warned, but I don't think anyone is still reading this anyway.
And before we get scared, I put together another edition of the Infamous Intro!
This week someone asks if I'll ever stop buying new game consoles? Is there any chance I someday leave podcasting for another "career"? And if I was challenged to play through an entire console's catalog, which would it be??
Plus we play another round of 'Play One, Remake One, Erase One', too! This one features 3 shooter guy games: The Conduit, Area 51, and TimeSplitters.

Acerca de Remember The Game? Retro Gaming Podcast

Comedian Adam Blank hosts "Remember The Game?", a retro gaming podcast. Each week, Adam and his guest will select a video game that they grew up playing, and spend time reminiscing about what they loved (or hated) about it. Not intended to be a history lesson, "Remember The Game?" is more like a conversation you'd overhear on the playground as a kid. The discussions are all over the place, and are guaranteed to fill you with that warm, nostalgic feeling. (Or rage, like you felt with the underwater level in the original Ninja Turtles game). Either way, it's gonna be fun! New episodes every Wednesday!
