It's clear that Formula 1 in 2026 isn't quite sure what it wants to be, after massive consumer backlash and concerns from its own drivers. Meetings are being held to figure out how to pivot away from the 50-50 split in due course, back to more focus on the combustion engine. How long will take take? It depends on the manufacturers like Mercedes, Ferrari and Audi and Honda.

On the other side, Formula E is about to release is fourth-generation machine to the world around Paul Ricard. After over a decade of development, THIS is the ultimate electric racing car...and it looks amazing. And oh yes! Its speeds are getting ever closer to F1. I would call this an embarassing moment form Formula One...and maybe a sign of moving away from electrification; so as to have two premium single seater motorsports under FIA governance.

Oliver Bearman just brought up his crash again.

In an interview with F1 podcast Up To Speed, Haas Formula 1 driver Oliver Bearman recalled the actions of Franco Colapinto and deemed them "unacceptable". His interview started to show me a pattern forming. One which we saw with Yuki Tsunoda, Liam Lawson and Lance Stroll last year. Drivers with less standing in Formula One and whose jobs are far less secure are seeing narrative blowback done to them from this driver.

Is Ollie Bearman the villain here? No, he's got his own cause to fight for: a Ferrari seat. However, this stance is a very precarious one considering the evidence from Suzuka doesn't really back him up; nor did his team boss or the FIA...not even the telemetry could.

In a shocking interview, FOM and F1 commercial boss Stefano Domenicali went on a crusade AGAINST Formula 1's critics; calling the sport's 2026 season so far a success...whilst also passing the buck onto the Formula One engine manufacturers. In an elegant fashion, the Liberty Media rep framed the entire situation as good for new fans...and cared little for older fans. Views are up in some areas, down in others. As the FIA closes another loophole Mercedes used, this time in F1 qualifying (at times), Toto Wolff's team's advantage gets smaller and smaller. With two less races to win before an effective second start to Formula 1 one this year in Miami, George Russell and Kimi Antonelli will face stiffer competition. However, for the latter, it may not matter as much. As Wolff and Russell lament the situation their Formula 1 team is facing, plus the criticism they aim at their rivals, the Italian has already won races and broken records to cement his place in the sport's history ALREADY.
