The FIA has once again deemed Red Bull Ford Powertrains as Formula 1’s benchmark combustion engine. And once you actually read the rules, it gets a little bit surreal. The ADUO can offer opportunities to sort out the turbo, ERS, MGU-K, cooling systems and control electronics...but the assessment for the offerings are JUST for the ICE. How is that fair?!

To me, Red Bull's 2026 program is now absolutely cooked...but the teams voted for this...now they, Red Bull, might be regretting their willingess for simplicity. Oops!

I’m not convinced Williams kept their drivers on equal terms.

Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz are both staying at Williams for 2027, but look closer and these are two very different deals. The happy little double announcement isn't quite what it seems. These drivers are no longer the same. There is a number two driver, something which will really hit home come next season...how did we get here?

One thing's for sure, Williams are in a weaker position now than they were two years ago.

Isack Hadjar’s "wrist injurty" has unexpectedly sent Liam Lawson back to Red Bull and Yuki Tsunoda back to Racing Bulls. At the same circuit where Lawson made his F1 debut in 2023...in similar circumstances! Beyond the ridiculous coincidence though, this weekend could tell us a lot about how Red Bull now handles its drivers in such scenarios.

There’s also the uncomfortable advantage of Red Bull owning two teams being put on full display for its critics. For me? This is NOT redemeption for either Liam or Yuki, but simply a chance to help their teams out in their own F1 battles.
