Kathleen was one of the first people I met at Virginia Tech, where we were in a class called 'University Studies' which is short for - 'I have no idea what I want my major to be because I am 18 and really overwhelmed so throw me in this 3 credit course and make my parents thrilled'. A fellow Jersey girl, she just shoots the shit. Kathleen loves her family a lot - important. And a few years ago she started To Us Vintage. I honestly knew nothing about this industry and how it works, so it was cool to learn about it from Kathleen herself. Anna Roisman is truly just top tier. You may recognize her from her iconic impressions of Kris Jenner, Hilaria Baldwin and Steve from SATC. Studying Television Production at Boston University, Anna had always wanted to be a star from a young age. From acting, stand up comedy, impressions, content creation, a one woman show and being a dog mom... there is nothing she cannot do. I truly had SUCH a good time chatting with her and off camera we figured out we both love tennis which bonds bitches for life.

Mother and daughter duo, Lisa and Kayla Derman join me on the podcast this week. They are from Westfield NJ (SAME) and are truly just amazing people. Lisa has an extensive history within the alc beverage industry - starting as a lawyer, and moving into other lucrative positions over the course of many years. Only a few years ago she had a moment - she wanted to start her own Bourbon brand, and she had the tools to do it. Kayla, who was always creative and enamored by her mom's work ethic (and also ridiculously smart herself - like... Duke undergrad and then Berkeley Masters) joined forces with her mom and Five Springs and haven't looked back. Five Springs has 3 flavors- and is for everyone. You don't need to be your classic 'bourbon drinker' to love Five Springs... It's Not That Deep. I loved being able to talk about my Grammy Sandy who passed June 22nd. What I learned and continue to learn is - age, relationship, time spent is not correlated to how much you grieve and miss someone no longer with us. Knowing that grandparents lived a good life is so nice, yet not having her here is painful, regardless if it is the right thing. I talk about mutual friends, I hype up my mom, talk about yiddish, talk about loss, bereavement, dig into a great voicemail and then call it a day. G-D forbid.

Isaac Knox was the first person I met at my first comedy show. It was at Broadway Comedy Club in 2021, and I had brought 25 of my friends and family. I sucked - but had so much fun. Der. But I met Isaac in the green room, and his kindness was unique in a way that kept us in touch to present day. I was so grateful to have time with Isaac to get to know him better and hear his story. Isaac's many other “rap jobs” have taken him all over the world, resulting in a Guinness World Record, battle rap trophies, awards for a successful rap musical, and 650,000+ Youtube views.
