For decades, the Sunset Marquis has been much more than a hotel. It's been a home away from home for rock stars, musicians, actors, comedians, producers, and some of the most interesting characters to ever pass through Los Angeles. The walls of that place have seen some serious history.
Today Mark takes us deep into the story of the Sunset Marquis — how it became one of the most legendary rock 'n' roll hotels in the world, the people who have stayed there, the stories that have unfolded behind those walls, and what makes the place so special after all these years.
We also talk about the brand-new documentary If These Walls Could Rock, which digs into the incredible history and mythology surrounding this iconic hotel.
I love the history of Los Angeles, I love rock 'n' roll, and when you put those two things together, you get one hell of a conversation.

If you're a fan of rock 'n' roll history, this is a special one. Today we're talking about a brand-new book documenting one of the most legendary moments in music history — The Beatles' final concert, which took place right in San Francisco at Candlestick Park on August 29th, 1966.
Jim Marshall was there with his cameras, capturing The Beatles at a moment when nobody knew they were witnessing the end of an era. These photographs give us a front-row seat to what turned out to be the final paid concert The Beatles ever played together.
Amelia and I dive deep into Jim Marshall's relationship with The Beatles, the story behind these incredible photographs, the chaos surrounding that final show, and what it was really like to document some of the biggest moments in rock history through Jim's lens.
