Desde el reggaetón, pasando por el hip hop y el trap, las mujeres han sabido nombrar su deseo con rimas, términos y claridades suficientemente fuertes para mantenerse en el tiempo. Mediante un lenguaje explicito, sin censura y reapropiándose de términos como “hoe” o “bichota” nos encontramos con una resignificación del discurso y la creación de unos códigos propios que acaban, por fin, con la visión de la música urbana como un sonido misógino. 

Pero, ¿es este cambio en el discurso una transgresión para el sistema o una simple perpetuación de unos cánones estéticos concretos e impuestos? ¿Cómo hablamos del deseo en primera persona? ¿Cómo desmasculinizamos la mirada deseante para las mujeres artistas?

From reggaeton, through hip hop and trap, women have known how to name their desire with rhymes, terms, and expressions strong enough to endure over time. Through explicit language, without censorship, and by reappropriating terms such as “hoe” or “bichota,” we find a resignification of discourse and the creation of their own codes that ultimately put an end to the view of urban music as a misogynistic sound.

But is this shift in discourse a transgression of the system or simply the continuation of certain imposed aesthetic standards? How do we speak about desire in the first person? How do we demasculinize the desiring gaze toward women artists?
